I closed the last post by mentioning the remnants of Hurricane Norbert. Most of the storm went south of Moab, although Moab and Arches did receive some rain. Lee and I knew the rain was coming, and flash floods happen so quickly in the desert that it is best to stay out of canyons, low-lying areas, and off of unfamiliar roads. We busied ourselves with chores and projects.
In the late afternoon, we were rewarded with... rainbows!!
We took a drive along the Colorado River, this time to the north rather than the south (where the rock art was).
The evening light on the landscape was stunning.
The next day we headed back to Arches, to pick up where we left off. We saw signs of the rains from Norbert and one closed road.
We were happy to be in Moab.
Back to the rock formations of Arches, as we continued to explore.
The stones go marching two by two, hurrah, hurrah!
A hidden passage...
..leads to another arch!
It was nice and cool in here, with the shade and coolness of the rocks.
On to the next stop! This stop, at the end of the road, required a 4-mile hike.
Look at this - Vienna sausages on the mountain top!
The Tunnel Arch:

The path:
Our goal on this walk was the arch that is as large as a football field, known as Landscape Arch.
I had to use the panorama feature on my iPhone to capture this arch in its entirety.
Next, Canyonlands!

You don't realize what weather can do to roadways. I am finally catching up to all your post. Love, love, love the photos.
